Barbados NENPASS Online Survey Information

Target Demographic: All Barbadian nationals, permanent residents, temporary residents, visitors and tourists who have been to/ lived in Barbados in the last 3 years (18 years and older).
Survey Background: This survey is part of a national research initiative led by the Environmental Protection Department. The purpose of NENPASS is to better understand how communities across Barbados experience and perceive environmental noise, and how these perceptions affect daily life, health, and well-being.
Survey Objective: The data from the survey seeks to help inform future noise policies and legislation aimed at balancing development activities with socially acceptable practices and community well-being. Specifically, this survey seeks to:
- Assess community attitudes and perceptions about environmental noise from sources such as transport, construction, and entertainment.
- Identify and rank the social impacts of noise on different groups.
- Gather opinions on acceptable noise levels and preferred management approaches to inform actionable recommendations for the Government of Barbados.

Responses will remain confidential. No names or identifying information will be collected. Participation is voluntary.
